A star of the Patrician range, the goblet “VD” is a Lobmeyr classic, designed by Josef Hoffman a century ago. Its muslin glass is mouth-blown by skilled artisans, who work with wooden moulds at virtuoso speed to create crystal only 0.7 to 1.1 millimetres thick.

This Viennese glassmaker was already 60 years old when it collaborated with Thomas Edison on the first electric chandelier. Today, three cousins, Andreas, Leonid and Johannes Rath run the family business, upholding the cutting and buffing techniques of his ancestors while collaborating with some of Europe's most exciting contemporary designers.
