Story

Zavadski's Andorra lamp delivers a tribute to the architecture and objects of the Art Deco age— particularly the period's influence on classical European design—through the juxtaposition of curves and angles, solid and fluid. Assembled by artisans in the label’s native Ukraine, the deceptively simple piece comprises a billowing shade of hand-wrapped cotton perched midway down the weighty marble base.

Maker

With their original chandeliers drawing on Baroque influences and the lavish materiality of centuries past, one could be forgiven for putting Zavadski into a box. However, while many of its designs remain anchored in tradition, a strong Nordic following has encouraged the company to explore more experimental endeavors, such as its Andorra collection of natural stone lamps—an ode to contemporary Scandinavian minimalism. In all cases, what endures is an uncompromising commitment to haute craftsmanship and premium materials, such as travertine marble, fine brass, hand-worked cotton, and cut Austrian crystal.
