Story

Braided from polyamide, Pigment France’s TechStraw captures the warmth and texture of natural straw, yet brings twice the benefits, as it’s lightweight, durable, waterproof and washable. In northern France, skilled hands sew each length into the Trocadero placemats, where craft meets clever innovation.

Maker

Founded in Saultain, northern France, Pigment France turns natural materials into everyday art. Artisans handweave rattan, willow and straw into refined patterns, using Osier—a wild willow prized for its strength and sustainability—alongside innovative TechStraw, a lightweight, waterproof braided fiber. These materials come together with soft European leather, carefully stitched to create pieces both tactile and timeless. From rattan serving trays to woven jugs, Pigment France’s work invites the quiet pleasure of ritual, bringing texture and warmth to daily life.
