Ena Rottenberg designed this coffee cup and saucer for Augarten at the beginning of the 1930s, inspired by the coffee- and tea-producing regions in Asia and Africa. Each poetic piece is handcrafted in the Vienna workshop from crisp-white porcelain and finished with pops of 24-karat gold – a personal favourite of the atelier.

Meet the Maker:

This Vienna workshop defined baroque pottery in the 18th century, then reinvented itself as a purveyor of Modernism. Today Augarten's skilled ceramicists incorporate 300 years of design traditions in every dish, refining each piece by hand and etching it with the recognisable “Bindenschild” coat of arms.
