The Urushi Wagatabons tray is crafted using Japanese hand-carving techniques by Ido Ferber, a skilled Israeli-born potter and woodworker based in Tokyo. Hand-carved from old Philippine mahogany shelves recovered from a local Sento, this unique tray is finished with several layers of Fuki urushi for durability and a beautiful sheen. Display it in the centre of a coffee table as a stand-alone decorative piece, or use it to serve slices of artisanal bread.

Israeli-born potter and woodworker, Ido Ferber relies heavily on nostalgia to inform his work; the frivolity of his childhood spent roaming in the countryside. The forms and geometrics of his everyday home objects are also inspired by the artist’s natural surroundings, focusing heavily on imperfections and experimental processes. Ideating and creating out of his Tokyo workshop, each creation combines techniques from many different crafting fields, whether wood-forming or metalwork.
