Meet the Maker:
Episode
For Episode founder Jesse Shaw, unpredictability and imperfection are what draw him to abstract design. Inherent to his ceramic work is the permission to experiment freely. In his Brooklyn studio, a handmade ceramic lamp might emerge from hand-worked, architectural clay, animated by colors that drip, marble, overlap, and gather into unexpected textures. The city itself—its unrelenting industry and fusion of global cultures—is another muse, providing a cosmopolitan contrast to the organic forms of the natural world Shaw seeks to honor.
