Leather and Nickel Chess Set

Carl Auböck II approached the classic forms of traditional chess in his singular Modernist style. He designed this set in the 1950s, rendering each piece by hand in cast iron and nickel, while the board has been crafted from natural leather. Today, the set is made by Carl’s descendants from the vintage Auböck moulds in the original Vienna workshop.
