Since childhood, brothers Francesco and Mario Ballarin dreamed of turning their love for glassmaking into a career – something that became a reality in 1956. Their early days saw them experiment with various techniques such as grinding and borosilicate processing, but it was filigree-rod blowing that really struck a chord and helped them to establish their signature style. Today, Mario’s son Angelo is at the helm, building on the passion project handed down by his elders. Each functional piece explores the many shapes and forms light can take while combining traditional techniques with modern-day innovations.
