The art of working slowly is no small feat, but one mastered by Casablanca-born ceramicist Linda Ouhbi. Her path began in an atelier in Marrakech and continued through an apprenticeship in Burgundy, studies in Paris—where she now lives—and an artist residency in Japan. Working primarily with hand-building and coil techniques, Ouhbi creates vessels through a careful dialogue between form and raw material, each piece emerging gradually through a deliberate process. Prehistoric objects and ancient cultures remain constant references; her work considers not only utility, but time itself. In her Paris workshop she develops glazes from raw minerals, metal oxides, and rocks, producing surfaces with a time-worn patina.
