Felix Votteler is a self-taught woodturner based in Tübingen, Germany, whose work sits at the intersection of sculpture, object art and memory culture. To Votteler, wood is not simply a medium but a vessel—of time, transformation and collective memory. He works exclusively with fresh, green wood from environmentally felled trees, honoring each growth ring, scar and knot as a record of life and passage. His reverence for material and story is evident throughout his collections: thinkash once rooted on the historic grounds of Grafeneck, plus oak, maple and other types of wood bowlsmade from the remains of centuries-old city trees. Each piece is a quiet meditation on place, history and the enduring beauty of natural form
