Once Albert Thiry settled in Vallauris in 1943, he furthered his training in various ceramic workshops, including that of Charles Voltz. Thiry worked closely with his wife, Pyot Gavaudan, who helped him to establish his decorative, sculptural aesthetic. This jug from the mid-century spotlights his signature of engraved detailing.
