It’s been 200 years since Josef Lobmeyr opened his first shop, making it the perfect time for the release of the Neo Series VI – a timely follow-up of the previous collaboration with visionary artist Martino Gamper. The blueprint was originally imagined by Gamper for Vienna Design Week in 2016, who wanted to push the boundaries of what an old fashioned tumbler can be. The results speak for themselves; each piece is hand blown from Lobmeyr’s signature muslin glass, with geometric forms hand engraved onto the surface. This only-at-ABASK piece was designed for our first physical and international event at Salon Art + Design 2023 in NYC.

Lobmeyr was already 60 years old when it collaborated with Thomas Edison on the first electric chandelier. Today, three cousins – Andreas, Leonid and Johannes Rath – run the family business, upholding the cutting and buffing techniques of their ancestors while collaborating with some of Europe’s most exciting contemporary designers, such as Josef Hoffmann and Sebastian Menschhorn. Lobmeyr is recognised for its ultra-thin muslin glass that’s hand blown by expert artisans in the Vienna workshop.
