Kadri
Kadri's story starts high on the Tibetan Plateau, with the rare Changthangi goats of Ladakh and their exceptionally fine fiber. Combed by hand, it travels to Srinagar, where Mujtaba Kadri, the fifth generation of his family in the trade, works with nearly 2,000 Kashmiri artisans, including women who still spin by hand. The result is cashmere that softens with every year, but this is no exercise in nostalgia: bold color and graphic line turn centuries-old techniques into cashmere twill blankets that feel strikingly modern.
