Story

Sister by Studio Ashby’s debut fabric capsule encompasses a selection of fabrics inspired by the crafts, flowers, foliage and ancient traditions from all over the world. While some spotlight eclectic prints with rich stories, other focus solely on the fabric at hand – as is the case with this king-size blanket. It’s made from a personal favourite of the designer, mohair, which perfectly balances refinement and durability with textural richness.

Maker

‘Part playground, part shop’ is how Sister by Studio Ashby describes itself, fuelled by sibling love and free-spiritedness. The founder – interior designer Sophie Ashby – draws on her love of antiques, colour, art and photography to inform each collection. We’re proud to stock fabrics with beautiful craft stories; some are inspired by the hardy beauty of the orchids found growing on Table Mountain in South Africa, while others are inspired by her husband’s Ghanaian heritage. To bring her vibrant textiles to life, she calls upon the expertise of Yarn Collective, known for its natural, recycled materials, climate-positive ethos and revered quality. Her pieces are woven by hand using centuries-old techniques and finished with eclectic, rich details.
