Aimee Betts allows her love of textiles, particularly historical textiles, to guide her design practice, taking her beyond linens and into the realm of structured design objects. This interplay of malleable materials with unyielding wood, metal, glass, and earthenware results in tactile, contemporary table lamps that can’t help but catch the eye. When it comes to the finer details, she turns to time-honored crafts such as sailors’ knots, weaving, and embroidery techniques, all undertaken by hand in her Berkshire studio.
