The process of clay oxidation often results in a loss of colour, but that isn’t the case for these small plates by Lee Song-am – instead, each one is defined by his signature deep black glaze. They reflect his preoccupation with Goryeo and Joseon ceramics with their perfectly imperfect shapes, high rims and textural finishes.

Lee Song-am first took to the pottery wheel during his high school years and has continued to expand his research ever since, experimenting with size and shape for modern, architectural results.
