Story

Pinto’s Les Champignons motifs are inspired by the drawings from an old botanical encyclopaedia. In this set, six different types of mushrooms are hand-painted with astonishing precision – every scale, pore and gill is accounted for, as are the details of the tiny forest insects buzzing around. Each one is handcrafted in France from the finest Limoges porcelain.

The late Alberto Pinto is a legendary figure in the world of art and design, celebrated for his embrace of different cultures and eclecticism. At the beginning of his career, he worked with notable industry names – such as David Hicks and Luis Barragán – until he felt ready to take on a personal project in the 1960s, and what better than the design of his own apartment? Such rich heritage is honoured today in Pinto's beautiful collections. Original hand-painted designs echo the aesthetic of the founder while celebrating fine materials and exceptional craft.
