Masashi Ifuji works from his studio in Matsumoto, Japan, creating objects with a form-meets-function philosophy. For this cherry wood cutlery carrier, he utilises the templates and techniques used by 18th-century American Shaker communities. This style was once used for eggs and sewing thread, with the loop handle designed for easy transportation to and from the market. Today, it can be used for anything and everything – display purposes included.
