Story

This Mitla vase is named after one of the most respected sites of the indigenous Zapotec people in Oaxaca, Mexico. It’s handmade in a smoky white resin, giving it a lightness suited to moving about the house – as an art piece or vessel for striking leaves.

Maker

Christie’s alumna Raffaella Goffredi has an eye for authenticity and talent – and uses it to source objects with strong regional identity from across Mexico. Her roster of small producers use ancestral knowledge, integrity and ethical principles in their craft. Tabletop wares in striking colours and glazes take on pre-Hispanic silhouettes and motifs like precious historic artefacts.
