The name of this jug is quite fitting for Ceramica Pinto, as Vietri sul Mare is where its workshop has been based since 1850. The ceramic house honours age-old techniques, crafting and painting each piece by hand. For inspiration, it looks to established artists, designers and architects, such as Gio Ponti and Giuseppe Capogrossi.

Rosaura Pinto and her husband Giovanni Alessandro have been at the helm of family-run Ceramica Pinto since 1980, continuing the legacy of their predecessors – including founder Vincenzo Pinto. The story starts in the early 19th century with hand-painted tiles; ever since, countless creatives have collaborated with the maker, such as Hungarian sculptor Amerigo Tot (who acquired artistic direction in the early 1950s) and the great Giò Ponti. Other notable collaborations include Michele Busiri Vici, who coined the Mediterranean architecture aesthetic, artist Giovannino Carrano, and Renato Rossi, founder of the Salerno School of Ceramics. Our exclusive pieces are made and painted by hand at the Vietri sul Mare workshop, which dates back to 1850, and are proudly finished with a signature.
