Story

The ephemeral qualities of light have long intrigued Szymon Keller. It’s why he works so frequently in resin, a material of unpredictable nature upon which heat, humidity, and other variables can exert influence, leaving subtle differences and imperfections on the final form. This martini table is from Keller’s Lung collection, which finds its muse in the living, breathing creatures of the ocean, its curious, splayed legs resembling an aquatic invertebrate reimagined in solid form.

Maker

Szymon Keller’s artistic journey is a fusion of culture, place, and landscape, from the Baltic wilds of his native Poland to the architecture and Mediterranean light of Barcelona, where his workshop is based. His work is rooted in a fine arts background and profound connection to nature, particularly its ephemerality. This atlas of inspiration finds an outlet in playful designs that evoke emotion, such as his Lung resin tables, where asymmetry and bandy legs are features rather than flaws. Keller's preferred medium, resin, responds to light, humidity, and temperature in an unpredictable way, making each object one of a kind.
