Efe Serio, Emel Se... Efe Serio, Emel Serio and Daniel Shavit founded Mizar & Alcor on Turkey’s coast in 2016, united by a love of Mediterranean and African cultures, and a shared vision to integrate tradition into modern life. Working hand-in-hand with local fifth-generation artisans, they create beautifully unique linen that remains faithful to time-honoured processes. As testament to their wonderful team, their head artisan – Ali – has been recognised by UNESCO as a Living Human Treasure. And it doesn’t stop there, as the maker is also carbon negative, offsetting 200% of its annual carbon impact (as verified by Gold Standard) and using it to fund sustainable development projects that provide safe drinking water in Laos.
