Meet the Maker:
Viya
Indian folklore meets artistic imagination in the designs of Viya. Founder Vikram Goyal finds inspiration in the interplay of global cultures—the elements that unite us all and transcend the artificial boundaries of a map—along with the time-tested crafting techniques of India. Vikram is committed to reviving forgotten or oft-overlooked artisanal traditions, including block-printing, hand-embroidery, screen-printing, metal-casting, and Italian pietra dura mosaic art. Encompassing home accessories, lighting, and furniture, each collection has its own narrative, from the brass candlesticks echoing Mumbai’s Art Deco buildings to pieces influenced by the divinity of the Banyan tree.
