Ancient Greek Sandals is devoted to creating artisanal shoes to the most exacting standards. Co-founded by designer Christina Martini and businessman Nikolas Minoglou, it takes inspiration from Greek mythology, producing natural, pared-back footwear for summer-lovers, globe-trotters, and creatures of comfort. Local craftspeople employ centuries-old techniques to create each pair by hand, relying on materials like chemical-free leather, minimal stitching, and traditional styles of decorating. Look out for the maker’s mark—the wing-shaped buckle that’s a nod to the ancient legend of the Cretan craftsman who made magical flying sandals for the god Hermes.
