Italian-born Serafina Sama, founder of Isa Arfen, pressed pause on production in 2019 so she could rewrite her design rulebook. Setting a seasonal approach aside, she returned in late 2023 with a singular caped proposal steeped in sustainability. Her collections, while alike in silhouette, differ greatly in fabrication, colourway and character – while some are collegiate-inspired, others are palate-cleaning classics. Devotees of Isa Arfen, an anagram of Serafina, rejoice in her tightly edited collections crafted in a three-gauge knit that consists of a mix of Scottish-spun lambswool yarn and cashmere.
