Fornasetti Passata di Pesci Hand-Painted Porcelain Plates (Set of 6)

The beauty of Fornasetti is that no style or movement is beyond its reach – over the years, the house has dabbled in everything from Surrealism to Baroque. This set of porcelain plates is a mid-century gem from the archive, comprising six shoals of multicoloured fish. Each one is hand-painted, silk-screened and lacquered by hand.

Meet the Maker:

The Milanese design atelier renowned for the design and decoration of timeless pieces was founded in the 1940s by Piero Fornasetti, a multi-disciplinary artist who created over 13,000 objects in his lifetime. Barnaba, his son continues the design legacy which defies categorisation: Fornasetti is at once imaginative, ironic and sophisticated.

The result is a marriage of inspiration and functionality which is expressed in every day objects such as porcelain, accessories and furniture. Every piece is handmade in limited annual editions.
