Chengdu-born Yuxuan Huang’s Brooklyn-based studio is a conduit for her many passions and personal philosophy. Throughout her life, Huang has been drawn to fields such as art, poetry, and archaeology, a combination that lends her work unmistakable nostalgia. Finding beauty in the everyday is a principle she carries, particularly when the external world feels tumultuous. As such, the delicate beauty of nature is reflected in her collections such as her abstract table lamp series, which features butterfly-like forms crafted from reclaimed woods and Japanese Kozo paper, hand-painted and glossed in shellac.
