Baba Tree works with local villagers in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana to make its distinctive handwoven designs. Weavers work with the hollow stalks of veta vera grass—otherwise known as elephant grass—which are split, rolled and twisted before they’re woven and dyed by hand. See the results in all their beauty courtesy of these baskets.

Baba Tree works with Fra Fra weavers from Bolgatanga in Northern Ghana on their elephant-grass baskets and trays. Marked with the handprint or signature of the maker, no two are exactly alike.
