Bex Manners founded R Collective after years spent traveling through Southeast Asia and building lasting relationships with master artisans across Indonesia. Working closely with weaving communities on the island of Sumba, she creates collectible ikat blankets that celebrate one of the world's oldest and most intricate textile traditions. Each begins as hand-spun cotton, with every thread individually bound and dyed using natural pigments before being woven into patterns that carry generations of cultural knowledge. Rooted in long-term collaboration rather than preservation alone, R Collective brings ancestral ikat into the contemporary world, ensuring its remarkable craftsmanship continues to be valued and passed on.
