The process of clay oxidation often results in a loss of colour, but that isn’t the case for this large bowl by Lee Song-am – instead, it’s defined by his signature deep black glaze. The piece reflects his preoccupation with Goryeo and Joseon ceramics with its perfectly imperfect shape, fluted rim and textural finish.
